Tips on having a positive outlook!

Updated: Jun 24, 2018

“I am not interested in competing with anyone. I hope we all make it.” – Erica Cook

I am almost 20 years old and before having a positive outlook on everything I reacted negatively about the smallest things. I didn’t want to do any hobbies, besides sleep, and I could care less about where my life was going. All because I wasn’t happy with what was around me.

I can now say being genuinely happy is an amazing feeling, it’s greater than any other temporary happiness. I just wish I would’ve been this happy sooner. If this sounds familiar to you or even if you are just trying some new tips I am here to help. Simply because I hope we all make it in life, no matter where it takes you. Enjoy these little tips to make your day or life a little easier or better!

Tips for having a positive outlook!

1. Start new hobbies – I recently started trying new things and it makes me feel so good! I started doing yoga, reading (because those who know me know I don’t read much) and blogging! So I definitely recommend to try new things because it’ll definitely boost your confidence!

2. Do what you love – This took me a while to figure out but once you do find what you love to do OMG you will have a drive to finish school, or even just driven in general, if you’re not in school.

3. Treat yourself! – This is important on the days or weeks that you work hard! Rewarding yourself is okay! I know some people think oh no I can’t treat myself but it’ll feel 10x better when you reward yourself…so go out and get that outfit!

4. Eat fruit and veggies when you’re bored – eating fruit and veggies will make you feel better than eating a bag of chips. On your way to work, class or lounging around eat some grapes or carrots you won’t regret it!

5. Have lazy days and errands days on the weekend – Okay so what I do is on Saturday mornings I’ll run all my errands that I need for the week. I’ll go to target, get groceries, stuff I need for the apartment, or any other things I have to get done. On Sunday I have my Lazy days so I’ll relax, do my blogs, clean a little bit, and rest before the weeks starts. This helps you reenergize.

6. Be organized…Planner! – This helps me so much so I literally put everything in my planner. It helps me stay organized and prepare for what is to come so you aren’t blindsided.

7. Drink water – This can be hard for me especially because I am not a water person, so I have to bring a water bottle to work with me so I have to drink it! It makes me feel better rather than drinking a soda.

8. Stop living to please people – This is very important for having a positive outlook if you’re working or even going to school for your parents or someone else you are going to hate it and will have a negative outcome. I had to learn that I am not going to school for my parents but I am going for me and what I love!

9. Realize that you can overcome those bad days – You will have those days that are bad and you don’t feel like doing anything. But realize that the sun will rise again and you can do it! You can overcome those obstacles in your way!

10. Love many! – Love others and love many, you will feel so fulfilled. Talk to those people you’ve been ignoring or love those people who haven’t been loved!

11. Confidence – Sometimes to this day I struggle with confidence and I know it shows, but the days I have confidence I am so much happier and my day is so much better! So Most importantly love yourself and love your flaws!

These are some of the tips I use to have a positive outlook on life and I hope you guys can use it too! Have a great week and be positive!

Sending Love – Megan Carolina
