Happy valentine’s day!! I hope your day is filled with so much love and sweet treats!
So far into 2019 I have really been pushing myself to show more love or to be more giving. God has given me plenty of opportunities to do so and I love it! Showing love to someone or being giving is so fulfilling. But in this world we can easily see the negatives on social media or what happens on the news, it can be really discouraging how much hate can be in this world. But one person like YOU can do little things to change it. I want us to really try to be loving, so I am going to challenge not just you but myself as well. Just a small act of kindness can make a person’s day. Here are few ideas from little acts of kindness to big ways of showing love.
1. Text your friends and encourage them. We are all in school or work so we know how it is and how it can be, so text your friends and family! Remind them that they can do it and they have someone rooting for them.
2. Treat a friend or family! When you’re going out to eat or even just getting a smoothie offer to pay for someone, something so small can make someone so happy.
3. Just being positive. No one likes to be around a negative Nancy so throughout your day just be more positive and have a good attitude towards others. Compliment someone more or say a funny joke.
4. Cook dinner! It’s no secret that when there is food involve people will show up, so once in a while or how many times you would like host a dinner. Whether its picking up already made food or cooking it yourself you can never go wrong with showing love with food.
5. Donate gently used items. I know this sounds cliché but it’s a great way of spreading love! Instead of going to goodwill (which is totally fine) ask your friends or family if they would like to look at the clothes first. Or you can donate them to a shelter in need they especially need clothes when it’s cold.
6. Friends support friends. This year we are supporting each other in all that we do. If your friend has a local business, blog, mission trip they’re attending, an awesome idea, concert, sports game, etc. Whatever it might be we are supporting friends this year! We need to be each other’s biggest supporters.
7. Pay it forward! I know at Starbucks this is common to do but it works for other places too! So when you go to order your coffee in the driver thru just tell the barista that you would like to pay for the person behind you and they will gladly let you.
Strive to be a loving person and strive to really be different from what we see on social media. We are all humans and somedays can be harder than others but with a different perspective on life I know we can do it!
Remember Be loving, Be true, Be radiant!
Sending love – Megan Carolina
