Empowered Women - Part 1

Empowered women empower women.

A new series I love and I am very excited to start is the Empowering women series. I want to focus on one women on each blog who is empowering and is empowering others. We want to build each other up and encourage others, it’s not a competition I hope we all make it.

Our first women of the empowering women series is my dear friend Lorena Moreno, she is a mom, business owner, hairstylist, and independent educator. Lorena is known for her servant heart and building confidence in others through her career. I had the opportunity of interviewing her and getting to know her more.

“What made you fall in love with your job?”

Lorena: “Falling more in love with my job happens when I get to witness confidence, value, and knowing your worth grow in my clients. Whether it be my hair clients or the stylist I teach.”

“What is your favorite part about being a hairstylist?”

Lorena: “My favorite part about my job is the relationships I build with clients. They become friends and family to me.”

“What is the hardest thing about being a stylist? Do the hardships make you fall more in love?”

Lorena: “The hardest thing about my job is the formulation, the math and science part of my job. Also the physical it can be hard on my body.

Hardships have definitely been a blessing in disguise. I like to call them challenges and I am not scared of a challenge.

“What motivates you the most?”

Lorena: “Expanding my mind and growing as to not becoming complacent in any area of my life motivates me. I never want to be in the same place I was a year ago 6 months ago, 3 months ago, hell even last week!”

“What’s one thing you’d want someone reading to know?”

Lorena: “The best advice I could give anyone is to change your perspective. Instead of thinking I HAVE to do this always think I GET to do it!”

I want to thank Lorena for letting me interview her! She has built her business in so many ways and she serves others while doing it. She is an empowered woman but also is empowering women to be confident and know their worth.
