Its already toward the end of August and y’all know what that means…the semester is starting. I am so excited to start classes and I feel really motivated, but unfortunately I know by the end of the semester I will want to slack off. Today we are going to talk about tips that’ll help you and I have a successful semester because I need these tips too!
Tip#1: Sit in the front two rows! My algebra teacher told me this in high school and it stuck with me. I found this helpful if you are in the front two rows, you are most likely to pay attention because the professor can see you way better than the back rows. This helps me stay focused and not get distracted.
Tip #2: Planner! I love using planners they are my favorite way to get organized and have everything in order. I put my school things, events, birthdays so I remember, bills, and so much more. When I use my planner I feel way more accomplished.
Tip#3: Get your professor to know you! Email your professor on the first day of class or got to torturing sessions so your professor will see you and know who you are. This will help if your teacher is grading and remembers you they might help you out more!
Tip#4: Bring snacks to class! I cannot concentrate if I am hungry or I’ll want to skip class so I can go eat. So defiantly bring a few snacks like chips, fruit, sandwich, or bring money to go to the book store for snacks. Its way better to be in class when you’re not hangry.
Tip#5: Make at least one friend in your class! Having friend in a class will make the class a bit more fun, you can ask questions that you don’t know, and or already have someone for a group project. This will also help you talk more in class and not be shy.
Tip#6: Buy supplies that motivate you! Ever since I was little if I were to get a pretty notebook, cute folder, and or fancy pens this would motivate you to use them while studying or doing homework.
Tip#7: Study at other places! It is way easier for me to study at Starbucks rather than my apartment, I will get distracted and get on my phone. So I literally go to Starbucks and bring everything I need to study for a few hours. This will help you be productive and have a good drink while doing it!
Tip#8: Set small goals! We all have a goal to finish the semester successfully but it helps to have smaller goals and when you finish them you will feel better about yourself. For example, set goals to go to class early, or get 100 on this next quiz, and or study for two hours. Small goal like this will keep you productive during the school year.
Tip9: Happy music to class! Don’t listen to sad and depressing music on the way to class that’ll just set the tone for your class and you won’t feel pumped at all. Listen to the music that makes you feel confident and happy, my go to is Beyoncé!
Tip:10: Reward yourself! There is nothing wrong with giving yourself praise for all the hard work you have been doing, so reward yourself. It doesn’t have to be the biggest thing in the world but maybe Starbucks, a new top, or ice cream. Just to let yourself know you’re doing great!
I hope these 10 tips help you guys with this semester and help us all pass this fall semester! I know we can all achieve our goals we just have to work hard and have a little help along the way. Enjoy your last few weeks of summer!
Sending love – Megan Carolina
